Always Test Your Outside Spigots
Winter is finally over and now you want to accomplish some yard work. However, as you turn on your outside spigot you realize that water is flowing INSIDE instead of OUTSIDE.
What happened?
During the winter the spigot could have broken during the freezing temperatures. Immediately shut it off and call a plumber. Worst case scenario, if you did not catch it in time, call a plumber and then call us at SERVPRO of Licking County at 740-587-0938.
We receive many calls in the spring and early summer concerning spigots. Typically either ones that have been leaking awhile, or some that just decided to flood your basement now. Always test your outside spigots before watering your lawn or doing any yard work. This can keep them from backing up and causing water damage in your home.
If you turn on your spigot and no problems arise, do not forget to shut it off when your are done! It's alright to water your newly created garden, but you do not want to water your newly finished basement!
Call SERVPRO of Licking County at 740-587-0938.
